This here footage is the Northern Hang #2 on the Superior Hiking Trail in Northern Minnesota. Twenty of us hammock hangers who are all members of HammockForums.net .... the treasure trove of hammock info, got together for 3 nights of backpacking in the cold. Most of us had never met yet it is like hiking with old friends ........ fun for me as I usually solo camp. We started in Crosby Manitou State Park as the SHT (Superior Hiking Trail) runs through it and it is a backpack only park. One of my very favorite spots up there. Had temps of 21º the first night, second night about 23º with snow and high winds and about 23º the last night. Fun for all to test their cold weather systems. Thursday several of us got up there early and camped all over ....... Friday we had a big "meet n' greet" potluck dinner and Saturday walked around 8.30 miles in high winds to camp. Some had really never backpacked and now the hook is set!! Glad for you to be watching our frolic in the piney woods ......... Whoooooo Buddy!

On April 9th, our group of six hammock campers set up at the group camping area in Kejimkujik National Park for our first group hang, Betwixt Snow & Blackflies. In part 1 we check out our camp site and all of the rigs including bluenose rumrunner's ENO....cheesepizza's DIY hennessy with zipper mod....dragonfly's HH Exped & his JRB winternest...jbtech's UL Explorer...bluenose climber's DIY hammock & his unique tarp guylines....along with some DIY uqs, whoopies and more.

19 or 20 of us HammockForum members met in the Linville Gorge Wilderness area of North Carolina for a four day hang....... we had cool weather, rain and Livermush!!!!!!! Two of my old buddies ,Hickery and The Turk came on this trip as well. We all went to Jr. High and High School together. Been around 15 years since the three of us all have gotten together and we use to spend quite a bit of time backpacking in the Linville Gorge. A huge THANKEE to Ken and Hawk-Eye for totin' in and cookin' the Hunters Livermush from Shelby, NC. And to Slowhike for backpacking in that piece of Rhubarb/Strawberry pie for me from Louise's! PART 6 ..... Whew Buddy! Start with a wee disclaimer ...... answer to many e-mails. OK, OK....... We go over proper tarpage over the hammock. Focus on ends ...... See how the tarp moves and slides for adjustability on the continuous ridgeline. Exciting!! Where to tie the tarp on the trees....... you'll see. Not into continuous ridgeline????? We go old school and simple. Tie right of the end of the tarp with two lines. Look at a couple of easy-peasy knots. THESE ARE NOT THE ONLY KNOTS THAT YOU CAN USE..... There are so many.
