I have a hammock chair, but do not know what type of hook to buy to hang it from my celeing . I am aware that it needs to be attached to a beam for the support.
i heard i need an eyelet screw, but what size?

Answer by El Duderino I'd probably use at least a 4 inch lag bolt to fasten ia hook to the ceiling. It is overkill, but you will never have to worry about it breaking loose.

I am overwhelmed with the options on finding a hammock and stand. I want a cloth type hammock that is strong enough to hold 2 average adults. I found a stand last week that i liked and now cant find on google or yahoo. im looking for a stand that will break down small enough that i can pack into backseat or trunk. Id like to keep it affordable. Under $ 150 for everything including shipping. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I am planning to get my husband a nice hammock for Fathers Day. I don´t know what kind is the best, so if you have some brand names I will be glad to get them. Also I don´t know if I do really need to shop for a stand since I am planning on hung it in the trees in my backyard. Thanks for your help!!!

Answer by The ReDesign Diva Stand hammacks are no fun! Definitely get him one that hangs in the trees! You won't need a stand! Don't know any brand names but you may as well get the gift for you too.... buy a double hammack! They're much more fun!!!!!!!!

In a hot climate there is nothing better to sleep cool at night than a hammock. In the winter this can be a problem. One of the the coldest nights I have ever spent in the bush was here in Brazil in a hammock. Here in Brazil we use tropical weight bags that are not rated for cool weather. This video details how to rig a US Army poncho liner as a back blanket or under quilt as some call it. my hammock is about 13 feet 6 inches from tip to tip including the chain link that attatches it to the stand. Thanks!

Answer by exbuilder Sounds like you need a 12' hammock stand. The links in the chain can be used to adjust the tension in the hammock. Sounds like you got it made ... hammock in the shade, a cold drink, and maybe a laptop with wifi.
