Question by haleythensnaley: How big, and What kind of hook would i need to support an indoor hammock chair from my celeing?
I have a hammock chair, but do not know what type of hook to buy to hang it from my celeing . I am aware that it needs to be attached to a beam for the support.
i heard i need an eyelet screw, but what size?
Best answer:
Answer by El Duderino I'd probably use at least a 4 inch lag bolt to fasten ia hook to the ceiling. It is overkill, but you will never have to worry about it breaking loose.

Question by Kirsten: How and when can we best transition our baby from an Amby Baby Hammock to a crib?
We have an almost 5 month old who has slept in an Amby Baby Hammock since the day he was born. He sleeps very well. We tried two nights in the crib a couple of weeks ago, and it just didn't go so well. The Amby keeps him all snuggly and moves with a rocking motion when he moves... and the crib is just a crib, of course (although it has a very nice mattress). Any suggestions from experienced Amby users?
Best answer:
Answer by Moira A Never used a hammock, but when I needed my babies to stop sleeping with me, I just put them down in their own beds and when they got up in the night, brought them back in with me. Naps were in the crib too. Then as they got bigger, I would return them to their crib after taking them into my bed to nurse. Eventually they stayed there all night. If you don't make a big deal of it, it will help them adjust faster.
Question by Ryan: Does anyone watch the Junk Brothers on HGTV and remember an episode from Season 2 involving a hammock?
In the episode the brothers converted some discarded slats into a relaxing hammock, and I was just wondering what the dimensions of the hammock were and what type of materials they used to build the hammock so I can build my own.

Question by kcal: How do you keep your pet rats from chewing their hammock?
I feel like every time I put one up it is dismantled within a day or two. I have tried putting Eyelets into the corners but they still chew it. Any suggestions for the best thing to hang the hammock with? Should I use stronger fabric than fleece? I know not to use towels.
When my dogs chew their dog beds my mom puts a tiny bit of tobasco sauce around on the edges. I feel like that would be a bad idea with rats though. Ideas please!
Best answer:
Answer by Megan W The short answer is: You can't stop the rats from chewing.
You could try giving them other things to chew (wood blocks, wicker stuff), or you could try putting some Bitter Apple spray on the hammock to make it taste bad (it's safe for pets), but if they really wanna chew it, they will.

When buying hammocks, it is important to shop with the possibility of finding discount deals at the top of your mind. Most people are reluctant to look for hammocks at lower prices only because, in their minds cheaper translate to poorer quality. To start, keep in mind that brand new hammocks are available at more affordable prices than those you often find in the stores. These discounted hammocks are often of the same quality as their more expensive counterparts.Good places to begin searching for hammocks that are priced at a discount are at clearance sales and overrun sales. These sales often are found at local stores that also carry other outdoor equipment and items at regular retail prices, or at online stores that deal specifically with outdoor furnishings. Many of these local and online stores have sales in order to get excess inventory off of their hands. While your choices will be limited, good buys abound, with many hammocks priced at 50% less than regular prices, or even less.
Regardless of the season, however, hammocks are available at discounts when bought during off-seasons for outdoor equipment, which would be during either the winter or the fall. Timing your purchases to the off-peak seasons will give you huge bargains.
Make sure that the hammock you are buying is made from good quality fabric and material. Cheaper hammocks can be made from quality materials that are less expensive as those used in more expensive hammocks. In fact, some of these low-cost hammocks are crafted by the same manufacturers that make the more expensive lines, so it is very likely that you can be able to find an excellent hammock for a low price.
These hammocks can still be much cheaper than those you regularly buy even if you have to add shipping costs. This is because these online stores manage to save on overhead costs like electricity, rental space, and store upkeep, enabling them to offer their hammocks at a lower price. This makes online stores an excellent place to find bargains on hammocks.
If finding a new but cheap hammock continues to be a challenge, try looking for pre-owned hammocks at the many local yard sales and auctions online. These hammocks will definitely be much cheaper than new bargain hammocks. However, in such instances, make sure that you are buying one that is in good shape. Your best bet are those who buy hammocks, store them, then realize they have absolutely no use for these.
Hammocks that are cheaper than regular retail price are easily available in bargain end-of-season sales, retail stores during off-season, online shops, and auctions. With careful consideration for quality and materials, you may be able to save a lot when buying a hammock.
