i am buying a hammock chair soon to go in my room and i want it to hang from the ceiling, but i dont know how safe and sturdy it would be. we just have regular flat ceilings and now beams on the outside or anything....so how do i hang it and how safe would it be???? thanks!!
Use a 3/8" eye bolt screwed into the ceiling joist and hang your hammock with a 1/4" cable or chain. Hope this helps.

There are joist, or 2x4s up there. best to find someone who knows how to put it up.

Buy a hook rated for several hundred lbs. Screw it into a ceiling joist/ roof truss. A 1/8 pilot hole will help against splitting. Enjoy your chair!

If you haven’t purchased the hammock chair yet, I would recommend CedarStore.com. They have great hammock chairs AND the instructions for "How to Hang your Hammock Chair" are right on the site page as well as they send them when they ship the product.
We purchased one for our cabin a couple of months ago and LOVE it.
