I have a hammock-style hanging chair that I really want to hang in my aparment (inside). I was hoping that someone would have suggestions as to the best way to do that. Keep in mind that I am in an apartment and will need to repair any damage to the celine that I do.

I was thinking about some hook or something that I can pull it down off of when I don't want it in the middle of my space...I also want to put it out on my porch when I get the chance too... so moving it would be great... so on the same note, any suggestions on how to put it out there?

No problem. You just need some large hook screws, about 1/4" in diameter. Basically a screw with a hook instead of a normal head. Available at any hardware store. You will want to pre-drill the holes, a drill size somewhat smaller than the screw diameter. The screw should go in at least 1.5", preferably 2"+.

The main thing is you can't just go into either ceiling just anywhere. On the porch, you'll see lines of nails holding up the ceiling -- this indicates the joist line above. Go into the joist. Indoors, you won't be able to see the joist line -- you'll need to borrow a stud finder for this one.

Spackle the indoor ceiling hole before you move out. Leave the outside hook where it is.
