How do I make hammocks for my hamster?
Give as much info please! Thanks
Get a piece of fabric and cut it into a good size rectangle.
Then take a long shoelace and cut it into four equal pieces.
Sew it to each corner of the rectangle.
There's a lot of things you cane use to attach it to your cage. If it's a aquarium use 'S' hooks slightly bent at the top to go over. if it's a cage use the same thing but bend them inward so that the ends of the 'S' are closed. Another thing you can use are safety pins run through the shoes lace and clipped around the bars. This only works if the bars are small.

depends what you are wanting to make it out of!
Im getting rats so have done some research and found that you can just get a piece of old material, make holes in the corners and use cable ties 2 attach it 2 the cage…
also the other thing, more of an enlclosed hammock, is an oven glove! Im not sure how suitable they would be for hamsters, but just trying to help!

well it depends how big you want it. But for a basic hammock just take any piece of material that’s about 20 by 20cm and poke 2 holes, 1 on one side one on the other then take some cable and tie it to the top of the cage.
Hope this helps!

I used to buy ferret hammocks for our rats, but now I cut a square or rectangle of fleece & clip the corners to the top of the cage. In cooler weather I use a big piece & fold it so they have an enclosed area to stay warm in.
Fleece is soft & warm, doesn’t ravel & I toss soiled ones into a bag til there’s enough to put through the laundry.
Your hamster *might* enjoy a hammock (hang it low in case he or she falls out) but our hamster would probably shred it to bits very quickly– mice do that, too. With our rats, a hammock can last a few months (we give them clean ones once a week or more often if necessary). Good luck.

Our rats love hammocks. Our dwarf hamster just loves to destroy stuff.
