There are two dining choices.

When it comes to choosing a hammock, there are numerous options. Many things need to be considered such as who will use the hammock. Where you will put the hammock. Will it be undercover or exposed to the elements? These questions will determine the style and material of hammock you need to consider before you purchase.

The last thing to consider is size. Not all types of hammocks are available in all sizes. Some will only hold one person while others can hold 2 or more. Be sure to look at the weight rating  of any hammock that you may be looking at so as to find one that will fit your intended use.

Always be careful when entering or exiting your hammock as hammocks can be unstable. Children should be supervised at all times when using a hammock to avoid an accidental entanglement in the ropes of the hammock.

A Hammock of Your Own

It's been a long day--work, kids, responsibilities.  It's time to take a break.  Gather up something to read and a cool drink, kick off your shoes, and slip into a hammock.  Let yourself relax into a unique experience.

Why unique?  Because a hammock is the perfect place for daydreaming.  Hammocks have been around so long in so many cultures, that they not only provide some of the most comfortable seating you'll find, but they'll also open up the world to your imagination.  You may be using a camping hammock in your backyard, but it could just as easily be strung between two trees in the outback of Australia, surrounded by herds of kangaroos.  Your matrimonial hammock, big enough for two people, might be out on the back deck, but in your dreams you're sharing it with your sweetie on a wild island beach, enjoying the sunset over the South Pacific along with your favorite drinks.

The whole clever design of suspending the bed over the ground means that occupier can be kept cool due to the air flowing over and beneath them, and it also enables the body to cool itself thoroughly. Of course, the wet jungle floor is not an ideal place for any human being to sleep or rest as harmful creatures, even insects like biting ants, can cause many problems and illnesses or even, in some cases, death.

So where is the ideal place to set up your hammock in your own home? It depends on the personal decision of the owner so here are some ideas. Many people prefer an outdoor set up but it is not necessarily just for outdoors. Having a relaxing comfortable hammock indoors is now becoming popular and trendy. Hammocks are great for relaxing with a book or looking out of the window. However, the most common use for a Hammock is outdoors in either the garden or around an outdoor pool or on a front porch area. There is nothing quite like relaxing on a sunny day outside in a comfortable hammock. The one thing is for certain, these designs have been used for centuries by different cultures and will continue to do so for many years. They have so many functions and can be used for sleeping, sitting, playing, swinging and holding children or young babies. Whatever you want, the hammock would make a fashionable, comfortable addition to any home or garden.

How to Choose the Right Hammock For You

As the president of HAMMOCKLANDONLINE, I am always asked "how do I pick just the right hammock for me?" Well, it is not complicated, but it is important to think about the following when choosing your hammock. First you always want to buy a strong, well constructed hammock from a company that stands behind its products.

Now for the fun part. You need to answer the 5 basic questions of any good investigation, "Who, What, Where, When and Why."

First, Who will be using the Hammock? Do I want a 2 person hammock to cuddle up with someone special? Do I want a single size hammock so I can just zone out and forget the world around me? Do I want a family size hammock so we can all relax together, bond and enjoy each others company. OR, do I want a hammock chair that will not take up as much room and will allow me (or anyone) to curl up with a good book or some calming thoughts and relax.

Second, ask what kind of hammock would I prefer? Do I want a rope hammock that is cool, airy and comfortable and surrounds you like a cocoon, or would you prefer a fabric hammock that is solid and feels more like a bed? Or would you prefer to sit and swing and relax in a hammock chair?

Third, where will I use this hammock? Will it be outside all the time or will I be bringing it inside in the winter? Will I hang it in an enclosed area or will it be exposed to the elements? A hammock that will be left out in the elements will last longer and fade less if it is made of duracord™ or another weather resistant material.

Do I want my to be colorful and stand out as part of my decorating? (We have some bright beautiful print or striped hammocks and hammock chairs.) Or do I want my hammock to be simple and blend into the surroundings? We also have solid color tope hammocks that will do just that.

Forth, When will I be using my hammock? Do I want a hammock that is lightweight and can travel easily? A camping hammock or a simple rope hammock will work well if you want to bring it along when you travel. Some of our hammocks even come in their own pouch just meant for traveling.

But if you want a stationary hammock to use around your pool, on your patio, or in your garden, then you might want a hammock with a spreader bar and or a beautiful hammock stand.

Fifth and last but definitely not least you should ask yourself why do I want a hammock. Actually that should be your first question. Obviously you want a hammock to help you relax, unwind and get away from the stresses of the day, but really answering this question will help you answer all of the others.

In order to get the most out of your hammock, I am sure you remembered to take it down and store it properly for the winter months. Now that spring has arrived it is time to finally take that hammock out of hibernation and let it sway in the wind again.

To wash your hammock and get all those dusty cobwebs off of it, simply lay the hammock out on the ground flat. This can be on your patio, driveway, or deck. Essentially any hard surface that you have swept clean of debris and that can get wet.

You will want to have a bucket of water, mild detergent, and soft bristle brush. Scrub clean the hammock bed on one side, then flip it over and repeat. If you notice any areas of mold or mildew, scrub extra hard and remove as much as possible. While you are scrubbing, inspect the ropes for any fraying or damage that could have been caused during the off season.

Once you have fully cleaned off all the debris and stains, rinse with regular water. You can use your hose if available, or wipe it down with a regular cloth.

Now that your hammock is clean, you will want to hang it out to dry as soon as possible. If your hammock has spreader bars, you can hang it just like you would for normal use as long as it is in direct sunlight to dry.

If your hammock is Brazilian or camping style, without spreader bars, hang it over a chair or banister in the sun and allow it to dry that way.

Most hammocks will dry fully within 1 to 2 days. A dry hammock will last longer, so be certain that you get it in the sunlight as soon as possible.

By taking good care of your hammock and other outdoor furnishings you will ensure many years of happy use for you, your friends, and your family.
